Safest S/C ?
I have been thinking about getting a supercharger but i want something that will produce the most power with the least amount of strain on the stock internals, my car is a DD but i like to visit the strip. I have been searching and trying to find out what type of supercharger is the safest with the stock internals. It seems some people thinkcentrifugal are safer than twin screwb/c they don't produce full boost until higher rmps, is that true? Also what kinda numbers are you guys with twin screw and centrifugal seeing with 8-10 psi?

RE: Safest S/C ?
KB, Saleen, and Whipple are all great for the stock internals up to around 10psi. If you want to take it real easy, the safest setup is the base Saleen kit producing 4.5psi. It is not super powerful but its extremely safe. The boost can easily be turned up on the Saleen blower but that is where the boost begins with a 4" pulley. There is a guy in the Saleen forums with a GT that runs 11's with the stock Saleen blower (4.5psi)

I can't speak as to what type of s/c is safer, I think you run a risk whatever type you choose. But as far as numbers, i put down 440 rwhp at 8lbs on a very safe tune. The main thing is to deal with a shop that knows how to put together a good tune for you.

Saleen series VI 8psi (3.6 pulley) 422 rwhp / 416 torque....on an auto transmission. what is safest is relative to what you are looking to accomplish and what you consider safe. I might consider pushing the envelope a little higher as still safe and be right with a great tune and some luck, whereas someone else can have an inferior tune with a conservative approach and still go kaboom....personally I dont think there is a right answer or opinon. .... it depends on you...and what you deem safe
