Default 2005 mustang gt shifter

anyone know what size the thread is on the shifter... i want a skull shifter **** and i dont know what size to buy so it will fit correctly,... any one also have any idea where to find them?
all info is appreciated thanks... i already have a die cast metal one but it doesnt fit.. is there any adapters available???? thanks again

The stock size is a rather weird 12MM threads. The standard is 3/8-16, thats probably why your "die cast metal one" doesn't fit. I searched for a long time to find the **** I wanted in the proper size. Ended up getting one from UPR (http://www.uprproducts.com/). You have to buy one specifically for the 05+ mustang. There isn't a whole lot of variety in this size. If you ever install and aftermarket shifter, get one with the standard size threads...I made the mistake of getting the OEM thread size.

Another choice would be to get a custom made one from http://www.koolknobs.com/

when you say it has 12mm thread.. do people refer to this as the M12 thread is that the same?
i saw a couple items like this on ebay but i dont know if it was refering to the same thing

Yes 12 mm is the same as M12. Ford uses a m12 x 1.25 thread. I have a Steeda Tri-ax and they use M12 x 1.75. That is a 12 mm dia. thread and the threads are 1.75 mm a part.
