ive done the 302 stroker all forged internals and cobra crank, new flywheel and clutch to go with it. all the parts + tune and install was 7grand. the one time on just a plain on base tune with bolt ons it pushed right at 350ish rwhp. thats udp's, cai, long tube headers and a h pipe with cats for emission purposes.

Who did your work? I'm in MI so have some good resoirces (Paul's High Performance, Livernois, Alternative Auto etc). I'm going s/c'd and want to withstand the booost and have displacement to run with some modded Gt 500s (that's what I'm weighing really, going GT 500 or modding mine). Thx

I am in the process of a 5.4 cobra conversion. The motor and 6 speed trans came from a totaled GT500 Cobra with 37 miles on it.

i live in texas and had my work done by pat at psi motorsports, he definately knows what he is doing. I saw him recently run a built gt at 700rwhp using a turbo, it ran 9's all day long.

Wow! That's awesome. Why did he not show up for the shootout they had not too long ago in Mustangs and Fast Ford's. He could have taken 2nd.

I've been searching for a deal on such but as yet have not found one. But even then the cost will be steep. I'm trying to weigh trading mine and shelling out 25k for a GT 500 vs building the heck out of min ewith suspension, brakes, engine etc so it will run like a BOH.

Yeah this was one of those once in a life time deals. Was having a 302 built when the shop owner (Richard at Strictly Performance) called me up late one night and said he had a deal. We had to jump on it sight unseen and it was a risk but as it turns out it was a good one.

Drove the car tonight for the first time. Breaking the engine in over the weekend a little. Goes back to the shop Monday for more tuning and work.
