when u pop the hood with the motor running is it normal with a plastic intake to hear the ticking of the lifters......i dunno my o6 v6 i hear the same noise as i do on my 05 gt....its not very loud at all i was just woundering if its normal...i do not hear it when the hood is closed or while in the car or under hard W.O.T

Yes, definatly normal for these engines, my 05-07 all did, the 08 has less than 100 kms so I will have to wait and see!

The tick you hear is the fuel injectors. I complained to my dealer at the first oil change (500 miles) and was told it is normal. There was a TSB about the noise that said the same thing.

Maybe TSB 06-9-11 (LOUD TICKING NOISE —LASH ADJUSTER 3-VALVE ENGINES—STUCK) could take care of the issue...
