very sound advice for all us. we all have an addiction to modding on some level, maybe not as much as yours, but i can relate. having a plan and sticking to it is easier said than done. for me, it's getting close to ordering time for the SC so all this info is very good.
FYI: I started only wanted to make low 12's... (we ALL start small and then...[sm=badbadbad.gif])

Dayum ....

Have you heard good/bad things about the LVL 10 stg 3 5R55s trans ? What kind of suspension work should be made so the car can get the best grip ?

Honestly the level 10 does a great job beefing up everything but NO ONE (not even them) have a replacement for the weak stock input shaft and that's what I see snapping on the bigger HP cars. Ken has snapped his twice with a rebuilt trans and finally got smart and is going with a 4r70. Because level 10 still uses the stock input shaft, I think it is NOT worth it in any way shape or form IMO. It's nothing against them, they are a good company. Nobody has a replacement to use and why I say if you want big power, get rid of the 5r55...
Aye I see ... I think i'll set up my goal for 600 rwhp. If I want to get more than that i'll have to upgrade a TON of things ... as you have posted.

IMO from 1 - 10 in terms of cost-wise:

Getting a Whipple H.O. kit@ 10 lbswould be a 5.
For 16 - 18 lbs would be a 8 (new forged internals, tranny, DS, rib kit, reservoir, valve train work, etc)
Beyond 20 lbs would be an 11 !!!!!!

Just be careful if you plan on sticking with the 5r55 or even rebuilding it cause I have seen input shafts snap in the 600 rwhp range too.

If someone did make a replacement shaft that wouldn't break then what would break next?

Most broken input shafts have been at the track during launch correct?

is there group therapy?

you start upping the HP you have to spend money on 10 more things. Not a "stroker motor and i'll hey more HP no problem" kinda deal...as modaddict pointed out. Sticky this for the guys who ask about "forged motors"...etc....

What about the suspension ? Which springs? shocks?

I only have the basics, non-adj LCA + brackets and adj. UCA.

No - what I'm saying is you won't be able to have over 16 psi and have a daily driver with your Paxton... (at least without SERIOUS custom modification)
