Ok so yesterday i brought my car into ford to get an engine light checked out and they end up calling me today to tell me that i had some sort of racing tune on my car, I bought my car used and im guessing the owner before me had it tuned somewhere. well anyways, when i was on the phone with them they told me they were reprograming the stock tune so i keep my warrenty.. now im looking for an alternative and i thought if ford racing had a tune for the stang i could also keep my warrenty?

I hear the FRPP CAI and tune will maintain your warranty but, performance wise, it doesn't hold a candle to the combos available from Brenspeed, Bama, etc.. But Ford can only void the warranty on a repair that's CAUSED by the tune. Although there's a lot of gray area there, you bought the car to take advantage of it's key characteristic: performance. NOTthe warranty.Go get a decent CAI & tune and enjoy.

Go to Brenspeed.com to view most of the more popular combos. They all are equivalent in performance. If you use the search feature, you'll find Brenspeed and BAMA are 2 of the more popular vendors with very good customer service. One is preferred over the other depending on if you have an MT or an auto. I recommend that you contact the tech support at either one and ask whatever questions you have AND mention that Ford reflashed you back to stock. When you order, they need the code off the computer modul;e housing and, since Ford reflashed, it may make a difference. Maybe not. But they're the experts.

Most of the CAI & tunes seem to be providing 15-25 HP, maybe a bit more. You get 3 tunes to choose from from most of the vendors and the handheld tuner also let's you play a bit, if you're bold enough. If you're not modded much, you can choose different octane tunes or race vs. torque, etc.. Like I said, feel free to ask them questions. If you read the forum members sigs, you'll getsome ideaof the choices. The CAI & tunes REALLY wake the car up.
