07 GT Ford Racing CAI Hitting Hood
Hey guys, I'm new to this site as well as the Mustang world. My wife and I picked up an 07 GT on New Years eve. I have been quickly adding upgrades, one of which being the Ford Racing Power Pack with new mufflers, cold air intake and programmer. It was put in tonight, but the shroud around the filter is almost too high. When I close the hood, it squashes the assembly down and actually kinks the rubber intake tube and the harness to the airflow sensor just touches the top of the heat shield on the manifold. The kit is made for the 07 although its labled with the 06 part number. Ford told me they are the same. Anyone else had this problem with the 07 or is it made to be tight? The hood is closing, but I'm sure it is tight against the shroud.

My Steeda CAI hit my cerinivi's hood. It hit the channel the RAM AIR kit would fit into. I had to pull off the plastic stoppers that the heat shield fits into then cut the heat shield so it sat lower.

It sounds to me like you don't have the nubs pressed into the little holes at the bottom of the filter shroud. Double check there first.

It is definitely seated.
Got on the phone today with Ford Racing. They said it happened to another customer several months back. They think there may have been a few shrouds that were cut a little larger than the required spec. Just sending them the dimensions and they are going to send me out another.
