Default 93 octane tune gains

I ordered my cai/tune from Brenspeed last week, should be here by the weekend. Just curious as to what I should expect when running the 93 tune. Will I spin from a launch, etc. I have a manual w/ 3.31's, and stock 17" tires. Thanks.

With a manual you shouldn't notice as much of a difference over an auto tranny. Which intake did you order?

What he said! I got the C&L Racer and xcal2 w/ 93 tune from Brenspeed and it woke up a sleeping giant. Your car will snap like a firecracker at less than half throttle. Very Good Times.

Much better throttle response withthe CAI/SCT tune.
Ashort throw shifter and gears will be next.

+1 on throttle response, IMO its the biggest improvement. The response with the stock tune stinks, with the Brenspeed tune its nearly instant. There is also a nice improvement in torque you can feel when nailing the throttle. Its a great mod but don't expect too much...its not like you are adding a supercharger.

Regards spinning your tires - with the 3.31 rear end I'd be surprised if you are able to spin the tires from 1st to 2nd. Chirp them yes but spin them no unless you slip the clutch. Now switch to a 4.10 rear end and you can certainly spin them, at least with stock rubber.

Thanks for the feedback. I can chirp 1st-2nd stock and sometimes 2nd-3rd. It can only get better!

Pay particular attention to your car's response between now and the install of the CAI & tune. Run it hard a bit. Then duplicate it after the install. You'll butt-pucker some...

Here's a tip. Start off with the 87 tune, then get to the 91, then the 93. You'll get incremental smiles on your face.

And as far as what to expect, increased throttle response...by far. I remember reading the forums and not quite believing everyone when they said "it's a ridiculous change!", but please, believe me. If I'd been a passenger and blindfolded, I would have thought they were two different cars.
