Default Self lubricatinv vs. oil tapping S/C?

I was juts curious if anyone knew the any pros or cons of havinga self lubricating centri supercharger vs. one you need to tap into the engine oil. Obviously it will be an easier install and I think you'll have to service the actual charger more, but other then that anyone have any experience with the two?

pros for self lubricating is that it never has to be changed! (Whipple or KB says like 100,000 miles) and modaddict recommends every 50,000 miles I think (check the 4.6L section for info). The S/C that requires a tap into the oil pan has a good pro as well and that is the oil is chaged every 3000 miles when you change the oil for the car. Cons IMO is extra piping to get clogged and/or come loose (maybe) but either of the types have been proven to work for the S/C's they are applied to.

EDIT: If you want me to move this to the 4.6L section just PM me and it will be done! Might get more responses there....J

If your talking centri vs centri, fwiwbefore I went with a roots typeon a another MustangI installed myselfI had I looked into thecentri's, one guy I know with a oil tap to the motor oilrunning a Vortech, the head unit blew and according to him metal was found in his motor oil. So the non oil tapping type you would elimate the chance of thispossibilty.

Paxton has now that option and it seems to be a no-brainer. Less piping, no need to punch holes in your oil pan, shorter installation time, and the oil of the SC can be changed without removing the unit, IIRC.

I'm considering a NOVI 2200 and if I go down that route I think it will be the "SL".

Same here when I was deciding a year and half ago and looking at the centri system's (Vortech & Pro Charger)it would have been the Pro Charger if I went Centri. For the following reasons no oil line tap, I perfer from research & imo the A-A IC of the Pro Charger vs the A-W IC of the Vortech, and alsoinstall for me would have a little easierwith the PC. I have read in the past some head units on the Pro Charger had a problem with small leaks but heard PC wouldwarr the problem. But that was like I said that was a 1 1/2 years ago so don't if that problem in some units still exist or not.
