That's funny you should mention that Haze, I was just doing some research on that. I just got off the phone with Brenspeed a while ago and they said the biggest thing with this S/C is that I'll be pushing around 480 rwhp, so traction will be an issue. They suggested LCAs and some DRs if I wouldn't be driving much, but I still do drive my car a bit, not a DD, but enough to where it's pointless to have DRs. I don't go to the track yet, not enough time, but I do occassionly have fun on certain roads (no flames on this please, I hear enough and read enough and it won't help to answer my questions).

So anyway, I've done my research and this is what I have come up with:

BMR HD Rear Sway Bar 269.95
BMR LCAs 134.95
BMR Panhard Bar and Brace 209.90
Steeda "G-trac Brace" 69.95
BMR UCA 135.95
BMR UCA Mount 134.95

Total is about $50 under my $1000 and I think that would be the biggest pay off in preparation for the S/C. I got all my info from CrazyAl's post a while back.
Suspension would be the logical thing to do, as I am now suffering the traction woes that you were warned about by Brenspeed. However, if I may make some suggestions:

Get an adjustable Panhard Bar.
Get adjustable LCAs.
Get an adjustable UCA.
If you're going to do the rear sway bar, do the front. Otherwise, you're going to create a REAL bad oversteer (or is it understeer? Someone will chime in and straighten it out - Norm Petersonperhaps? Or Sam Strano maybe?)problem because the rear will be stiffer than the front, not a good idea.

My suspension mods that I'm planning are as follows (disclaimer - this will break your $1k budget, but..)

H&R sport springs (I don't want a HUGE drop, doing side-exit exhaust soon - already ordered it, just waiting for it to show up at the body shop) (~$250)
Koni adjustable dampers (~$700)
Adjustable LCAs(~$250?)
Adjustable UCA(~$180)
Adjustable PHB(~$150)

The other thing you might want to look into is wider rubber.. For $1k you could order a set of wider wheels, and get the rubber later..

The 1-piece DS is also a good idea.. I have that on my list at some point this season..

I still have 3.55's in mine, but if I'm not mistaken, you can change gear ratios yourself with the XCAL2, no?

NO !!!!!! Don't make the same mistake I did, yes you can update the ratio in your XCAL2 but that only adjusts your
speedometer. When I upgraded to 3.73s I loaded up my tune and adjusted with the XCAL to 3.73 and I thought everything
was great, butthen I drove the car and it didn't seem much different than when I had the ole 3.31s, in fact worse !!!! I called up
Bamachips and Dougsaid you need a new tune dude, he sent meanewonemadefor the higher gear ratio andwhammy !!!
Funny thing is this time I uploaded it without changing parameters and the speedo was all screwed up, now at least I knewthe car
wasset-up for the correct gear ratio, I made the change in XCAL and re-uploaded and now I am ingood.

The seat of the pants responseactuallyUSING the better gear ratio is awesome, now I have to put it to use and see if I can get into the 12s!!

Just goes to show a BSEE. doesn't mean anything when your dumbto begin with[]LOL

thanks

I've also been toying with the idea of a wider tire in the back, any ideas on a good size and brand? I've done some research, but still can't make a good decision. The M/T Streets are just not a option for me, I drive just enough to where they would burn up in a year. I want this thing as streetable as possible with this S/C and that's kind of what I'm trying to decide with this pre-S/C $1000 mod money. I just don't want to be at a light and then roast my tires so bad that someone in a stock civic will get like 5 lengths before I hook.

Then don't put your foot that far in it.

I have Nitto 555's for mine, but I haven't driven it yet with them on there. I went 285 in the rear.

I was actually looking at Saleen S/C's today, just for pricing, but it seems to be more that what I want to spend. I know, people would say, then just add the $1000 to your S/C money, but that would do nothing for me. I would have all this power, with nothing but stock suspension and the stock pirelli's trying to keep me in line, and I also like the power I get out of the Paxton kit for the price. I already have the SCT X-Cal 2 so I get to knock off 210 from the package. But 480rwhp for only 4.5k seems like gold to me.

If I decided to get new rubber for the rear, what suspension mods do you guys think I could drop? I still want to get LCAs (Gonna go adjustable) but I also want to get any other suspension pieces I can if I do decide to get new rubber and still stay at 1k.

Well whiteflash, the gears won't be fun to drive with once the S/C is on and the pulley won't do anything either. The HIDs I want someday, but my dad always told me, "start with the performance first, no one will see what it looks like when it's blowing their doors off". But if I wasn't getting the S/C, then 4:10s were in my plan.

if you do cmdp's now you will get a few more HP, but you will take them out when you go SC.

Only true if you use a twin-screw supercharger.. If you get a Centrifugal, like a Paxton, then you'll be keeping the stock intake, so CMDP's aren't a bad idea..
