Congrats!! can't wait for the results...

HeyMark, if you don't mind me asking, how did you get 331ci (5.4L) out of the BOSS block? as far as I know the max recommended stroke is 3.75 and that-along with a 3.70 bore- results in 5.3 liters, I've heard 5.4 is possible with a 3.85" stroke crank? and beside saving weight, what advanteges this stroker gives over a normal 5.4L modular block? wouldn't this be easier and (alot) cheaper?

And how about that 5.8L modular block MMR sells?

Hope all goes well with the rest of the build.. Sounds real exciting! What about the rear end? Sounds like you might leave your differential on the track!

The advantages are that I still have a 4.6 3V... That is the class I want to compete with. I want to see how fast I can get on the S197 factory platform.

I used a kellog 3.80 crank and .020 over dimaond pistons to get exactly 330.7ci (331) I had the block sonic tested first to see how far I coud go and this was the safest max without taking too much material away. This block is iron so you don't shave weight and like I said, it's not about being 'better' than a 5.4 motor, it's about being as fast as I can on the 4.6...[8D]

If it was just a matter of wanting to be fast, I would have just put in a 500ci pro stock motor and made it a track car...

It's about trying to get an 8 sec ET with a street driven single power adder 4.6 3V...[&:]

I am honestly amazed at how much out of state work adam is doing now. He is doing motor builds and shipping them out. He is flying to Florida later in the week for 4-5 days to work on some cars out there for people. I don't want to mention names to upset anyone, but he has even been paid to go to some big east coast shops and work on some of their trouble builds as well.

He is for sure not the only one, but my honest opinion is he is one of only a handful of guys in the country that are the pioneers of the S197 and breaking ground on the 3V capabilities. I can name on one hand the guys who would even attempt this build he's doing for me.
