As it is, in 5th gear on low boost, it pulls up past 6,000 RPMS and keeps going. How fast is that? Anyone know how to do that math? It's on 295/35/18's. I should get my GPS out and just do a speed run to find out.
RPM/ transmission ratio / diff ratio X tire circumference(pi x diameter). At 6000rpm with stock tires top speed is close to 120mph in 4th gear and 4.10's.

Back on topic, hopefully, I'll have my STS twins installed next weekend and I can give an account of how it performs.I haven't actually seen anyone with the STS twin setup post on it, andthere are only a handful of STS singles on the board. All the Saleen, Whipple, and KB questionsseem to overwhelm just about all the post concerning all the availableturbo setups.
I was referring to 5th gear.

I only know of one guy with the twins. He was very happy. Hopefully you have already planned for a clutch. You will need it.
In theory, with your tires and gears, 5th gear top speed (@6000rpm)is 183.48mph. That is theoretical though. No friction, no aerodynamics issues, no engine load (which we all know is very high in 5th).....I'm guessing true top speed in 5th is in the 160-170mph range. Let us know when you find enough SAFE open road (or circle track)to check that with your GPS. It would be cool to see what setup makes the fastest (top speed) Mustang.

Off topic, are you using the intercooler from STS, or are you using a different IC.
Well, unless I find my GPS tonight we will never know. I'm getting new gears (3.55) and a Detroit locker tomorrow.

I will see what I can do to get a high speed run on the way to the shop, but I doubt I will get the oppurtunity. I think 160-170 seems about right. I do 120-130 daily (work related) so I have a pretty good eye for speed.

As far as the intercooler, it comes from STS and suppose to handle 700 HP. It's about 4x12x~35. Air/Air. It looks like a Spearco but I'm not sure.

Default RE: Turbo question?

im a little late on this thread but as for the hellion kit and turbos in general, i highly rec. goin turbo. i did mine about a year ago and love everything about it. hellion makes a nice kit but they dont seem to pull the pwr per psi mine does. i highly rec powerhouse turbos. you can get a 67mm or 76mm or they will custom size you if you want bigger. they seem to make the most power per psi than any other f/i on the 3v stangs. its so drivable my car is a daily driver and i have made four road trips to my sisters house in it(11 hrs each way) and never had one prob except it killed my stock clutch lol. but i made 479rwhp and 500rwtq on 9psi and alot more than that on 11. so i highly rec them.

I also recommend Powerhouse. I've got their 76mm single on a lazy street tune right now at 11lbs. Got fuel pump issues (think it's the GT500 acting up again), so have to wait on turning up the boost for a race tune.
