on the topic of the gears... i see a lot of recommendations for 3.73 for autos and 4.10s for manual on a lot of threads.. anybody know why that is? I haven't heard... and then some people go with the 3.90 or 4.10s on the autos anyway.. just curious..

RE: Gears or Spyder Drive Shaft?
People suggest 3.73 for autos becuase they have a "shorter" over drive, where as a manual has a taller overdrive. I'm not sure I'm explaning it right. You usually want to stick with the FRPP made gears. All others can be hard to install and not get the dreaded gear whine.

RE: Gears or Spyder Drive Shaft?
You will notice the difference thatgears make more sothan the driveshaft. I'd dogears first. After that consider the driveshaft -you WILLnotice a difference.I went with FRPP 4.10's and a Coast DS. It cost me~$650 parts and labor for the gears, the drive shaft alone was ~$600. I installed that myself.
