Whipple vs Ford Racing
Quick question for the Whipple guys out there: the Whipple is sold either with Whipple part number or Ford Racing part number. Is what you get and the packaging exactly the same in both cases?

not sure i'm understanding your question correctly, but the whipples are drop shipped from whipple industries in CA. although it says ford racing on the side of the whipple all the paper work is from whipple.

RE: Whipple vs Ford Racing
I'm thinking to go with non-HO initially for now, for the following reasons:
1. cost: the SC and the install is a lot less expensive, I need to balance car mod'ing with the needs of my family
2. drivetrain: I don't have the cash to spend on beefing up my suspension and tires to handle more boost HO
3. warranty: I'd like to take advantage of the Ford Racing 12months/12000 miles warranty if I get it installed by the dealership down the street
In one year I will add the intercooler and go with a higher boost, and I should have enough cash to spend on the suspension/tires by then. I would be running the conservative FRPP tune until then.
I could avoid 2. by having a 7lbs pulley with the HO, but that still wouldn't address 1. and 3.

Buy the HO and run a 6 or 8 psi pulley.
For one it save you over $1000 than buying it later, and an intercooler is necessary at any boost level IMO. Then later you just put the 10 psi pulley on and a tune and you have 470rwhp for the price of a dyno tune.
Trust me I planned on doing the non-intercooled version for a while and I called every tuner in the country practically. They all said dont do it.
Plus the best deal I found for the non-inter whipple was $4600, and you can get the HO for $5275. To me its a no brainer. Just buy a smaller pulley.
Good luck.
