i'm thinking that there are preloaded tunes in there, it says check appropriate hardware changes and it flashes atune, much like a canned tune. i dont think that it will truly adapt to make the highest hp, hell everybody says that their stuff is the best or makes the most hp. in that steeda articlei dont see any dyno numbers. what if something is wrong w/ the tune, then what? then you gotta get it custom tuned anyway.

I talked to a buddy of a friend of a guy etc... who spent some time working with ford on the testing of the Bullitt ECU. It works exactly as I thought. All it does is give the ECU a wider range of adjustements and the ability to react and change things faster... and when I pulled out my laptop and opened up my tune on my 07 GT and showed it to him.. within 20 minutes we had duplicated 90% of what the Bullitt does on a standard GT ECU. A couple of things we couldn't do (due to the limitations of what my software would allw me access to in the ECU, not the limits of the ecu), which means under certain curcumstances it would take a little longer to reach an ideal solution for conditions. Most of what it is, is rescaling tables and increase sensor speeds.

Basically, reading between the lines of a few things he said, the Steeda thing is basically a Sniper type tuning software ( a bundle of pre-made tunes that you load as needed), built on top of the Bullitt's ECU ability to adapt fueling and timing as needed.

Kinda disappointing and hardly what it was touted to be...
