Default intake or axle back?

i just got my 05 mustang GT about two months ago. it has flowmaster axle back and injen intake which i talked to the guys at car fx here in town and they said the injen intake wasnt doing anymore than the stock intake can do. so heres my question. I need to know whether or not i should do the steeda intake package w/tuner for 800 or should i get axle back for my car and possibly slp cat back exhuast for close to the same price?

Steeda CAI & tune from Brenspeed... about $640, definately. THEN when you can, lose the Flowmasters.

The CAI & tune will give you a net HP gain, the axleback will not.

Hi tulsablack,

If you want to know which will make more power there is no doubt a CAI and good tune will do more than anything you can do to the exhaust unless you hang a pair of turbos on the exhaust manifolds. Call Brenspeed and orderyour Steeda CAI kit and SCT tuner and he will give you a great tune to install with your CAI kit. You can also just buy the Steeda CAI kit form Steeda along with the Steeda specific Predator tuner and use the supplied Steeda canned tune. This is what I did afterI got ripped off by Shawnthe SoCal Predator tuner. The updated Steeda firmware was better then the very expensive custom dyno tune. When Adam looked at my car's data log after a few dyno pulls he said he doubted he could get much more power or torque out of it but may be able to improve throttle response. So I passed until I install cams.

HTH!

Yea, forget the exhaust work. I too chime in for the intake and tune.
