Default RE: fresh air to CAI

Code:
I am wondering if this would in some way cause the engine to run too lean or anythinbg else troubling that I do not know about.
It will not alter the Air Fuel Ratio (AFR). Your Mas Air Sensor (MAF) is calibrated and works with the computer to adjust your AFR "onthe go". The air you are going to route to the intake will not likely increase or ramsubstantially MORE air in; but, if it did everything would automatically adjust, (and your 4.6 won't lean out). There are only 2"common"concerns about your AFRpertaining to your CAI:

1) If you installed alarger Mass Air Housing and DID NOT recalibrate the computer with that parameter (lean).

2) If your inlet tube detaches from the throttlebody and MORE air is entering the intake plenum than is being metered at the Air filter Inlet (lean).

Your home made air ductsmay help theair temps to be "COOLER" - any performance difference you would have to fill us in on. I would like to reccommend adding some type of screen or grille to filter out large particles from being forced up through the ducts and clogging your intake. [a pre / post DYNO would tell the story] GOOD LUCK and let us know how it works out for you.

Any difference in performance.
I guess "performance" comes with the 35 to 40 degree diff. of air temp. from under hood temp. to intake temp. I have an air temp. gauge probe installed at the area of intake "charge" recording intake temp.
