The only problem with the centri is they are a little more difficult to tune if you get a custom tune.. Other than that they are the best bang for your buck if the pricepoint is the issue..

Price isn't the issue. I just figure if I already have the fast revs, that I don't need all that tire smoking psi on the low end that the whipples/saleens/kb's produce.

Go with Brenspeed's Paxton, I'm going the same route as you are but with an auto.

Happy Brenspeed customer here with the Paxton. You won't be disappointed with your decision. The gears really help as I really don't notice that much lag if at all. It doesn't take long to get to 3000 and then it's a matter of holding on. Keep us posted!!!

Since you have 4.10's I would say get the Paxton. I just got my 08 GT and am trying to decide now if I want to go whipple or Paxton. Either one you really can't go wrong.

Don't mean to thread jack but I was wonderign how people find the whipple on a car thats also a daily driver?

I think you are asking how many people use their whippled stang as a DD.

I do, but have only had the blower for about 1200 miles. No issues so far. My MPG is unchanged if I drive it conservatively. When I drive spiritedly I get about 1mpg worse than I did stock.

I am running the 8psi pulley on the stock 91 octane whipple tune and made 416rwhp. Plan on getting a dyno tune and hope to get about 440rwhp at 8psi and 470rwhp at 10psi on pump gas.

People worry about driving in the rain but I dont really get it. The car doesnt make any boost until you go WOT. No WOT no boost. Drives like stock. Just have to have some restraint.

I learned that quickly as at one time my DD was a Yamaha R1 with a full pipe and power commander. over 140rwhp and weighed 400lbs. Must be very gentle in the rain with that power and 2 wheels. Driving a car is easy.

Good thread, don't mean to hijack it but :-)... I am considering the same thing. I have 4:10's already, and unfortunately I am price shopping or I would just buy the Whipple.

Anyway, my question is how do the Paxton's sound? I have never really heard a Centrifugal Supercharger before and I am curious how it sounds. I know that the Centrifugal wines during idle right? Do they stop whining when you get on the gas, and then start winning again as soon as you let off? Like if your coasting down from say 45-30 mph at idle slowing down to stop at a stop sign? Can you here it from in the car in that situation? Also, how loud is it at idle while parked?

And finally I have seen the Paxton kits on line, supposedly complete with a canned tune for $3,850.00. This is for a non-intercooled kit, which is what I am leaning towards for price and ease of installation as well as for not over stressing my stock motor, I not planning on racing so I don’t need max power. and if I decide that I do, I can always add the intercooler later.

Anyway, any and all info is appreciated.
