what kind of numbers are important when tuning a s197. the first thing everyone looks at is hp/tq and a/f ratio, but what else is in a tune? so to all you tuning gurus: what other variables does a tuner change or measure to make a tune good?

You may as well ask an artist how to paint a masterpiece.. you'd get about the same answer... I've been into about 65 different tables and settings on my car, and I am about 3/4 of where I will call my tune done.

Also, if your thinking about tuning your car yourself with nothing but a livewire... you will be very disappointed with the results. The livewire will not allow you to access about half of what you need to to really make the car scream like it should. You will need something more powerful to write the full tune. All the flash tuners do is allow you to upload a tune someone wrote with more powerful software, and make minor adjustments to that file... the tuners do not use them to create the tunes.
