That price seems high doesn't it? I know it's a 5.4L and it's put together by hand or whatever, but there's better ways to spend $15k IMO. Now if it came with a difference supercharger for that price, then it'd be worth it.

I agree....i think you can get better built smaller engines with different blowers and outperform the stock 15k motor and s/c on the gt500

I've seen the GT500 motor and tranny combo for $9k.. I'm sure that some of us are nearing that in our 3v's...

I heard there is some guy running around the states with a 5.4 out of a triton. He built the bottom end and swapped the heads and he is pushing about 900lb ft of torque through the truck motor

and the 5.4 is not out of 08 truck...i think it was an 01 F150...or something like that...you could pick up a 5.4 triton for less than a grand!!

you need to mate it with the tremec 6060 - 6spd from the Shelby as well

The motor new from ford is 15K.

I'm pretty sure the motor mounts are different in the 05's and 06's. The motor mounts are identical in 07+ for shelby's and GT's. I'm sure that isn't a huge thing to get around.

You'll definately need a new tranny, i doubt yours will even mate up with that bigger block. Would you definately want to stay automatic?
