Default Before i upgrade the GT

Hey all.. I been wondering something.. I'm fixing to start actually fixing up my 2007 GT.. I believe i'm gonna upgrade it to a Roush 427 theme.. Body Kit, then Roush Supercharge + High Boost Pressure Pulley..

My question is, before i start my upgrading, would i be better to change mystock air filter to a K&N air filter?? Is the hp/gas mil gain worth it??

Thanks all and many more questions to come..

I'd vote yes. But wait for more experienced minds.

that being said, why the rousch theme to create a rousch clone? No whipple or saleen?

I bought a Speeda CAI, havent installed it yet since I am waiting for my tuner to arrive and need to have my ford dealer install my new intrament cluster.

So I have a similar question, shoudl I ditch the Speeda CAI and go with K&N since it dosen't need a tune to work?

Any advice is appreciated.

If the CAI doesn't require a tune, it's not going to do much for you. Most of the benefit in the CAI+tune is the tune itself. It firms up shifts and takes the lag out of the throttle.

OP, if you're talking about a drop-in K&N filter, I'd say no...you're plans are going to change that up anyways.

I can tell you the drop in doesn't do much. I have it in mine, and the sound is about all that changes. But there is the whole "Never having to replace it" thing that's pretty nice about it. If you consider the cost of air filters it pays for itself after about 8 oil changes.

Out of all the Mustangs i'v seen, i like the Roush themes better.. They just have a better look to them in my opinion.. I like the Base GT look don't get me wrong, but the front fisca reminds me so much of the fox body.. On the SuperCharger, i can get a better deal on one of them..

Your ride will look great. I just had the Demolet system added along with Long Tube headers, matching mid pipes, Steeda underdrive pulley set and a dyno tune. Believe me the HP gain is real.

The Steeda requires a tune because of the larger than OE Mass Air Housing - allowing in more air. The other benefits of much better throttle response and Air Fuel Ratio tuning is major also. I have the Steeda / Diablosport combo and LOVE it. A lot of guys on the forums here say that the JLT is even better. No matter which way you go - if you don't re-flash you computer than you will not have enough performance benefit to notice.
