Default Warning TSB Just an FYI

I had to take the car into the dealer to have the oil changed because I just got out of hospital and could not do it myself. When they ran my VIN number they said there is a HIGH Warning TSB out for your car. My car has a build date of 02/18/2006, date sold to me was 03/10/2006. I have a tune and I was able to ask my service tech that works on my car at ford, I only have one that I will let work on it. He said to make sure you detune your car be for bringing it in for service, the car will not run if we do this update and there is a tune in the computer. TSB says “ there is something wrong with the passenger side airbag” this work is going to take place on my car tomorrow.

that is false, your dealer is wrong.....the recall has been around for awhile now and people have got it done....it doesnt touch the tune at all

I just got it done on my car on Friday. They don't need to re-flash your computer to do the recall.

Matt is correct. The recall invloves an update to the Restraint Control Module (RCM) and not the PCM where our revered tunes reside.

his dealer is 5% right If you have an 06 like mine, with the computer code TJF1 and you take it in for the recall, then yes they dont need to update your PCM to do the recall work, but while its there, they may notice that there was an update to TJF1 and update your PCM while your there. Easy fix for when u take it in is, tell em u dont want any damn updates to your PCM even if its gonna give you 50 mpg

Just had my '06 done, didn't take very long at all. I was there less than an hour
