Default OK, what about maintenance

On the long term, how often does a supercharger need maintenance and what kind? how much it'll cost?

Now I realize superchargers differe from one another, so which one basically needs less maintenance?

I've always thought turbos need alot less maintenance than blowers, if any. No belts to worn out.

Experiences?

give us more info....many different types of S/C's and the whipple is very maintainence free! an S/C oil change every 100,000 miles I think and if tracking or beating on the car maybe every 50,000 miles for safety. I know the vortech taps the oil pan and you change the oil for the S/C every time you change the motor oil...so every 3000 miles. Turbos have more parts and though they are an excellent choice for power at the track they can require more maintenance if you beat on the motor and have to get it built becuase the tune was too agressive and she detonates and boom! ANY FI setup can do that but I have read on here and witnessed first hand turbos blowing motors with higher boost (say 7-12psi) and the number for the loosely stated "golden rule" for any FI setup on the stock internals is 450 RWHP regardless of the PSI running to get you there.......JMO but modaddict or sawyer or hammy might have more info.
