Default What would happen if you took your GT in for a computer fix and...

Lets say you take your 05-07 GT in to the dealer for a computer fix and they accidently put a
tune or computer setting/flash in for a regular 6 cylinder stang?

Would you get error codes when you started your car?
Bad acceleration?
COULD they do it? What?

I'd be surprised if the computer would even accept the tune. If it did I don't see how the engine would even start...missing way to many variables that should be contained in the code (6 cylinders versus 8 cylinders...there's alot of code missing).

1) It wouldn't happen, because the recall is for the Airbag/Accessories computer.
2) If it did happen (they reflashed the wrong computer), then it wouldn't start, and they would not even be able to leave the shop bay.
3) Event if it did start (poorly at best), and make it to the counter, you would notice right away and make them fix it before you left.

Edit:
1) What is it with these double-posts when I use the quick-post feature at the bottom of the page?
2) Why can't we delete our own posts?

It would not accept the program. Software is very different between the two, and to my knowledge, the flash scanners that Ford uses does not write the enite program, it just changes the tables within it.

Doesn't & will not happen.
Processor codes are different, and PDS/WDS/IDS(dealer software) will not install the tune software. Its not even an option
