I ran a 13.9@100 with a 2.0 60'. I think I had a bad shift to 3rd. But this car launches hard if you get it right.

the extra hp probably spin the wheels all the way thru 2nd and into 3rd. cant really use the extra power till the top end. shows how important it is to get the power to the ground

If mine doesn't get into the 11's when the mods are done, I'll be surprised (and bummed).

I ran this race about earlier today at Lebanon Valley Speedway, Upstate NY near Albany.

Stock mustang, no mods. Best run first weekend was 13.92 with a 1.93 60' No engine mods at all yet. Stock tires. First time racing in 20 years.

Here's a video of the run. Sorry for quality... I'll have better videos later in the season.

By the way Don W ... You may be waiting a while for that Vortech. They're not shipping the standard kits yet. I changed my mind and ordered a Procharger after doing a lot of research. Should be here soon... Most people at the track were running Prochargers and swear by them.

And... the vortech standard kit is rated at the flywheel... not RWHP. A lot of the HP gained by the vortech is from the more aggressive tune... not boost efficiency.

Thanks for info on the SC, 05_Bullit. Do you know if the ProCharger is legal in California? I have been consulting with JBA Racing here in San Diego, and they recommend the Vortech for several reasons, including that it is legal in CA. For me, that is a major consideration. Here is an excerpt of an e-mail I got from them:

They [Vortech] have good performance, good fitment, and being located in California they always make a point to obtain an executive order number from the California Air Resources Board which means their kits are smog-legal. Although the various supercharger manufacturers have been displaying systems for the 05 Mustang since the SEMA show in Vegas last November, the actual kits are just now hitting the streets. In conjunction with Hot Rod magazine and Superchips Custom Tuning, we recently did the first dyno tuning of an 05 Mustang GT with an automatic transmission and a Vortech supercharger. It made over 400 rear wheel hp and that's without an aftercooler. For maximum hp in a daily driver, we would recommend the Vortech 2005 Mustang GT High Output System. This system includes an aftercooler. Cooling the intake charge allows you to run more timing and make more power without detonation. The Vortech kit that we installed for Hot Rod magazine was not a high output system and did not include the aftercooler.

I probably won't be ready to install the SC until the end of June anyway, so I'll keep reading/researching until then.

I second about the aggressive tune. I have another thread in this subforum '11s in a Stock GT with $2300 in mods' The stock program is [:'(] I want to say the lightly modded GT ran 11.10 with 1.65 60ft but I can't remember 100%. Anyways, next MM&FF is doing the supercharger and other things...

Don,

I suggest you do a lot of research before paying the money. Take time to go to a local race track and ask people how they like their superchargers.

There are reviews of most products available online. I found some on both superchargers at www.carreviews.com

Good luck!
