Using the right tools is more than half the battle. I did my Mac install last month and it took less than an hour, I didn't even bother jacking up the car. Yeah, they drone like crazy at 1,800 RPM but with the manual tranny, I just downshift and all is good.

OK, so I have a ratcheting wrench, but I couldn't get it close to that one bolt on the driver side (finally, after twisting the muffler down I got the open end on and was able to turn a bit at a time). For when/if I swap out again (especially if I out the big case stockers back on), what is the right tool to reach that bolt?

As far as the drone, mine's an auto and it's bad, but I will spend more time before I pull them off. When they're not droning they sound so damn good. Plus I haven't heard them with the top down yet.

I used a regular wrench with a narrow, long handle. I'm not a mechanic but I have a lot of tools that I buy when they're on sale at Sears and Canadian Tire. I guess I'm a compulsive tool buyer...

The drone gets hardly noticeable with the top down, there's definitely an improvement.

The funny thing is, now that the Macs are on I am thinking of getting something different. As awesome as they sound at idle, and from outside the car, and at high revs, the DRONE is killing me!
