Default Mystery Tune

I just traded in my 98 GT for a 2006 GT. The '06 had less than 3000 miles on it and a bunch of performance upgrades . It has a Steeda CAI installed and the Ford dealership told me it had a custom tune.Is there any way to figure out what tune the car has?

Use a tuner to dump the tune to a file, then maybe send it to a tuner and see if they have anyway of identifying it.

I think it should be flashed back to factory, then retuned, Thats what I would like to do if it were mine.

If it is a true custom tune then the previous owner probably took it to a dyno tuner in town.. if you have any in your area you could ask around, see if anybody remembers doing your car (they may even have a log or graph to give you still if they keep records, like many do)

Thanks. I was wondering tte same thing about not having the stock tune. So even if I buy a tuner I wonder if it would work since there's no stock tune for it to get.

There is a place in town that does dyno tunes, and they pretty much only mess with Mustangs Dallas Mustang).

I called the dealership again today. They're supposed to be getting me info on all the upgrades and stuff. When I bought the car the stock mufflers, pulleys and intake were all in the trunk...but no tuner. I asked the guy at the dealership to ask the previous owner if he still has the tuner. They won't give me his phone number (privacy laws) so I gave the dealer my number and asked if he would pass it along to the original owner. The guy supposedly lives nearby.

Hmmm, I'm not sure I want to de-tune the car because it runs great.

You wouldn't want to de-tune it. but have the tuner for a safety net and for bringing car in for future warranty work.
