Default Installed Tune

Got a tune from a local shop today. Damn. At first I didn't get on it till I filled up with 93 octane later in the day. Then I was driving down the highways and I got on it pretty hard....pushed us back quite a bit and definitely had less throttle lag. But when I got home I decided to show my dad on some open roads behind the house....wow. It was actually burning rubber on launch and the tires were chirping on the 1st and 2nd shift. Insane. Throws you back in the seat!

BTW, I have an auto

Wondering what I'll get next now!!! I don't think I'm gonna get CAI because I plan on getting SC...and SC I think is a bit away. I was planning on waiting a year to do any mods at all...I got about 8 months in.

I've been looking at getting a tune from a shop or buying a tuner myself, does anyone have any feed back on buying a tuner vs have a shop do it? I added a CAI, having exhaust tomarrow, and pullies; after that I'm pretty much done with mods for a while.

I live in Texas. I think every pump I've ever seen here has 93. About the tuner... I wasn't charged extra for the custom tune. Because I bought it from them they added a custom tune for free. I paid the retail price, that was it. It might not have been as awesome as a really good custom tune from the best of the best, but I hadn't even planned on getting a tune when I walked into the shop. It kind of jumped into my hands[&:]

It must be a NW thing, in AZ we had 87, 91, 93 I believe. In Montana we have 85.5 88 91.. (when i got my brenspeed tune i just reuqested an 88, 91, and valet)

Actually, in Arizona only 87, 89 and 91 octane are easily available. I wish 93 was.

I've seen more racing fuel stations than 93 octane in AZ

[hr]Nothing lower than 87 in Ontario. I was always warned when travelling south to watch for cheap gas, 93 octane is at every gas station here.
