Default New guy have a question

I just got my new 08 gt vapor 4 days ago. I was curious of what intake could be recomended? My other question is I took out my mufflers and just did the straight pipes will this affect anything on my car in a negative way? I have found out the SLP Loudmouth exhaust is lowder than mine. Thanx for the help in advance

and straight pipes is going to sound like complete butthole with these cars

if you want it loud just get an offroad x or h-pipe and some SLP loudmouths

don't start making your car all ghetto 4 days after you get it

What they all said plus... ALL of the CAI's are equivalent in performance. It's the tune that is the critical piece of the puzzle. Brenspeed, Bama, VMP and Evolution are all good vendors that can provide great tunes. Use the search feature. There's a ton of info on this.

[align=left]First off congrats on buying the mustang, but now to the point. Everyone on hear will tell you different things about what intake to buy. In all actuality what intake you get comes down to personal preference, but the consense of the forum is usually JLT 2 or C&L Street or C&L Racer. Another thing is where you order yours from. Most will suggest either Brenspeed of Bama. JLT and C&L are great intakes and both Brenspeed and Bama have great tunes, so like I said it will eventually come down to your personal preference. On the other subject of the exhaust; no, they straight pipe wont have a negative affect on your car most just don't do it. Most will recommend using a muffler delete system such as the SLP LM or the Boomtubes. Hope this helps.

As BlackStang already stated - you will get a lot of different opinions on which is "Best".

Nearly any CAI will give you improved performance.

I personally went with the AEM "Brute Force". I like the "cleanable" filter that never needs changing, or oiling. Just an occasional washing.

Here is a write up on my install:

And here is the dedicated thread on CAI's

Enjoy!
