new valve covers
Just got new valve covers for my 3V 4.6. Looking at installing them, it appears that I need to remove the coil on each plug also. no problem there, but do i need to remove the negative from the battery while doing this? and also will I have to reflash my current tune back into the computer after I am done?

RE: new valve covers
Remove the battery completely or you won't beable to reach the passenger side bottom bolts. Then you you will have to use a Universal Joint to get to the back and other hard to reach bolts.

Check out TacoBill's writeup and pictorial... they are always helpful.

I reviewed his write up thoroughly before I did anything.

RE: new valve covers
Also, when you remove the oil filler neck be careful not to break it.
There is a locking tab on it that needs to be pushed out of the way before turning it.
Push the tab in from the inside of the valve cover while turning the neck. This stuff is brittle so be careful.
I didn't do this and broke mine... Fortunately the neck isn't necessary and the oil cap fits right into the valve
cover itself so I didn't need to replace it.

You can still use the oil fill neck if you wanted to. The tab is not needed and actually fits just as tight as the oil cap you have on there now is sitting.
But in all honesty I think it looks better without the oil fill neck.
