shifting auto=wow!~
not sure how much strain it puts on the auto but tried both launching and dropping gears with the auto and all I can say is WOW!~
From a roll @35-40 with the traction control and OD off the car pulls like a bat outta hell!
it certainly felt alot faster then when just leaving it in D and taking off..it seems to pull alot harder, I shift right about 5800 and the shifts are hard.
Though from a deadstop it's either a hit or miss,I hold the brake hard then floor it just enough to make it jump then continue to hold it down when full traction is there. If I just floor it in 1 it
just spins the tires but the right throttle and it hauls *****.
it actually feels like a manual shifting though with only 3 shiftable gears and it surprisingly
only drops to like 5 k between shifts except when it goes into 3rd.Can't beleive 1st actually
goes up to 60mph..really surprised by that lol.Wondering if I should just get a torque converter instead of gears because of how much it'll shorten them up they might not even be usable anymore...

If your car is bone stock, get a CAI/Tune and that shift firmness will be all the time with the shifter in D instead of shifting yourself. You can't shift faster or as well as the car can...you just need to tweak how the car does it. My shiftpoints are at 6k and are pretty firm.
I wouldn't recommend doing what you were doing very often if ever.

maybe it just feels torquier rather then actually being faster...not sure what the shift points are
in D being stock but from a deadstop it doesn't feel all that great.

I believe stock shiftpoints are around 5250. Doug's tunes for autos are 2nd to none. Shift points go up as well as shift pressure. Bark 2nd and get thrown back going into 3rd. Add 4.10s and spina lot haha.

^^^ LOL
Don't half *** it guys. If you want to 'shift' an auto - get a manual 4r70..period. There is no substitute.
Otherwise, enjoy your auto, get the good tunes as everyone is saying and stop trying to pretend it's a manual...[8D]
