Default Custom Tune Question?

A newbie question, but what is the best tuner for a 06 Mustang? And are they easy to do by yourself?(im not well versed with Internal things with cars) I was looking at Brenspeed's packages for CAI and custom tune.. What would you guys say?

Default RE: Custom Tune Question?

My first mod was a brenspeed C&L CAI & tune. They sent me an 93 octane tune and it ran like a raped ape (compared to stock) I was pretty damn impressed but had to request an 92 octane tune because that's all we have at the pump here and the car was pinging. The car still ran very good with the 92 tune and would recommend it.

It's easy to install but just heed the advice to record the strategy code.

Sorry, just re-read your post. I think the Xcal2 is one of the most popular followed by the Diablo? And, yes, tunes are easy to install.

It is very easy to install both the tune and the intake. The SCT XCalII and XCalIII, and the Diablosport Predator are the two most popular tuners. Find out which tuner your local tuners works with and make you decision based on that. SCT tuners seem to be more popular.

BEWARE! Just because the sticker on your computer says it's a certain strategy, doesn't mean it really is! The dealer could have upgraded your computer behind your back without telling you.

This happened to me so the tunes I got from Brenspeed caused the car to not start, as they were for my old strategy that I did not have anymore (but didn't know).

Your best bet is to borrow a scanner and read the strategy from the computer that way and give that to Brenspeed (or any other tuner).
