The stock internals on an 05 will take similar hp to the stock internals on an 04. Yes, the connecting rods are weak, but, they can take 420 hp to the wheels for a LONG time, as long as the car doesn't ever run too lean or have too much timing. If you want to run more than 450 rwhp for extended periods of time, that's when forged internals are needed. I have been running 440 rwhp for 20,000 miles in my 01 Saleen with zero issues or problems, and I would expect to be able to do the same for at least 80,000 miles more.
