Default 1/8 times suck

[hr] I was able to get outta work early today to finally track my car at IRwindale so since i was limited on time i said what the hell Ill run it on the my 20"s and didnt bother putting my stocks back on I knew my times were gonna suck but now I am just disappointed
car is a
06 mustang gt
mods tunnable induction intake, frpp x pipe, corsa exhaust, hurst short throw, I ran on 20x8.5 with 255 35 and 20x10s 275 35s nitto 555s in the rears I lowered the psi on 22psi since i dont have much to work with the low pro tire.
(car dyno'd at 291 rwhp and 307tq with same mods as above except the corsa's)
I ran twice the first run i just sat there completely and felt the car go side ways so i let of ran like a 12.7 in the 1/8 lol
second run launched at 2500rpm rolled the clutch then got on it...it spun but not too bad,had a good shift from 1st to 2nd @6200rpm but shifted b4 6k going into third and really granny shifted that one (just got the hurst 2 weeks ago not used to it)
those times were
r/t 1.337
60ft 2.196
330 6.017
1/8 9.123
mph 78.82
here the wheels i just got two weeks ago that suck at the track they will never see the track again........maybe even the car

Dont feel bad man, I ran a 9.3 2 times in a row when I ran at our local 1/8 mile track last year. Your 60' time doesnt look all that bad, but your trap isnt that good at all. I have the same mods as you but I was running on the stock Pirellis and my traps were in the high 81mph range. So I was trapping 3mph more than you, yet you were running .2 faster than me. I think my 60' times sucked so thats why I trapped so high but ran a sh*tty time. So if I had to guess I'm gonna say your 20's really hurt you alot.

60" is high. trap speed is low. and time is high.

Sorry to see you had a lousy day at the track. I would suggest working on how you launch your car to bring that 60' down and you need to work on your shifting because the MPH is low...
and not like the reaction time affects your 1/8 mile but 1.3 is just bad.

Hey Leo,

Get some MT ET Streets on your stock 17s, performance clutch & flywheel. Heat the tires up a little and launch around 5k. I heard those heavy 20s make you lose around 25rwhp.

A lousy day at the track is still better than a good day at work!

I was out Wednesday Night and I ran 8.3@ 84 in the 1/8 mile every time. I have a auto with CAI and SCT. Something seems wrong with the trap speed. Practice practice practice and you'll lower your times alot

Ditch the 20's and come back next week and look for me. I'll be there and will be more than happy to help you out. I know your car can run mid to low 8's without a doubt. Honestly, if you plan on going to the track regularly, I'd ditch the hurst too if I was you. Those nittos suck for the track. I use the 555R DR's for the STREET. Get some M&H Racemasters on your 17" stockers and you will notice a BIG difference.
