I am stationed in Hawaii, so kinda. They had a track open on island the day before I bought my car in 06'. I was all excited to go for the first time the next thursday and then the announced that they were closing, I was so pissed. So now I race to occasional ricer at the street lights in Honolulu but its way to risky. Get caught street racing in Hawaii and they crush your car or turn it into a cop car.

Apparently the track conditions were much better then Bryron dragway. I went there this past Sat. with some Chicago areastang's it was opening day; the track was horrific, all the old rubber started coming loose. You could get decent traction off the line but then you would hit the loose rubber and that was it. I made two runs 12.8 and a 12.6 started to loose traction at 70-80 mph with drag radials, to scary for me.

That would suck... Looks like a few more weeks before good times. The GLD track was slick in the early part of the day, but became much stickier as the day went. There was a good mix of street guys and semi / pro guys.

Brian, I'm also in the service. Maybe you can see if there are enough guys on the bases to get something started onbase. MWR has surprised me before.
