Default Rough Idle ect. need advice

When driving I periodically get a surge in the rpm's when you let off the gas the tach will jump 3-4 hundred rpm you can hear the engine reving back and forth. Then while sitting at a stop light after about a minute or so the engine will start to run real rough. When you give it some gas its fine. When you get on it it runs perfect no miss. I have a new fuel filter and have cleaned the throttle body. The check engine light has not come on . Is my throttle body going bad ? Why don't the check engine light come on.

I just installed a bbk throttle body and this happens to me also. I dont know what to do. Idle fluctuates from 500-700 rpms back and forth like its camming or something. When I get on the gas or rev at real high rpm and let off, the RPMs drop real low, around 300, and then stay at 500, and eventually get to 750 and sit there... weird.

TB could be going bad. How many miles?

new plugs always helps the car run smoother

if it's stil under warranty I'd take it in. Someone on here just tonight said that the dealer replaced their TB under warranty and the idle cleared right up.

EDIT:
I found the post I was talking about.

I cleaned mine when I had a rough idle. It didn't really help at all so I just let the dealership replace mine under warranty, and I had the CAI on. I just told them not to reset the pcm. Great dealer... I guess i'm lucky...
