RE: track times suck!!! HELP PLEASE
I bet it is your tires, get some decent tires and you'll drop into the 13s, well thats if you learn how to launch. Go to a road that the cops don't eat their donuts at and practice launching. Some people like to launch at higher RPMS some like to launch at low rpms. You need to figure out what works best for you. Also you have to remember that the rpms you launch at are going to depend on your mods. If you have better suspension and tires you'll be able to launch at higher rpms. Also maybe you should stay away from the track until you figure it out for yourself and save yourself some money, unless you get passes for free. The way I learned how to launch was the million street light here in Honolulu and all the ricers that want to race all the time.

RE: track times suck!!! HELP PLEASE
I am going to sound like a broken record and say practice. I use to practice at stop lights. Not giving the car full throttle, but practice getting a good take off from stop lights without spinning the tires. Once I got that down, then just give it a little more at the track. 5000rpms is way too much without drag radials. I would suggest starting at 2300 and working your way up. Also you are probably going through the water. That is not usually recommended with street tires, because the tires will retain water between the tread, and when taking off the water will cause tires to spin more off the line. Go around water, warm up the tires and kick the 14s to the rear. Good luck.
