That vibration going up into 5th is probably the shifter handle or the **** being loose. Mine rotates loose sometimes and I can always tell because it starts vibrating - I tighten it back down and absolutely no vibration. There is a (copper?) washer that you can put in that will keep the **** from loosening if you crank it down. This is with the stock ****.

yeah, but I have heard the exact same complaints for the MGW... my question is, how does the hurst fair in this regard?
I've never heard anyone complain about the MGW other than the price. It's complete with dynamat(s) etc. I don't experience any rattling, shaking, heat, NVH, etc. It's a little stiff still after thousands of miles but I like it. It's a real positive feel.

+ 1 for the Hurst with factory ****!!! Very short/positive shifts and minimal NVH - driven about 40000 miles with it!
