RE: Jimmying the finish of shorty headers - yes or no?
Ok -I see where this thread is going and it appears that it may get back on track but.......everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Being a tech forum if you dont have fact based info/opinion to share than please refrain from commenting if it is NOT FACT BASED. I have researched storties (even for FI) and they have been proven to yeild low to midrange torque and they are a nice replacement to the stock manifolds that believe it or not have a header like shape to them. Meaning they flow quite well for manifolds esp on a non-FI setup. I am getting ready to leave work and dont have time to post my FACTS but feel free to PM me (anyone) and I will send you the link. I too may get shorties but for looks (I use the car more for show than go and pleasure driving) and want a nice 304 SS polished set. I have no worries about the gains because the S/C has great TQ throughout the powerband! Please just knock off the internet BS (-internet pissing match) whatever you want to call it! Later J
Oh and to the OP make sure they are CARB legal and dont cover or paint them like others have mentioned or be prepared to pay the price later on! JMO J
