Default NEED HELP QUICK!!! ADVICE PLEASE!!!

I was driving my '06 GT on the freeway today, just shifted into 4th gear, then the engine started making an odd, irregular thumping noise. Even worse, when I stepped on the gas, there was absolutely no response from the engine whatsoever.

Luckily I was able to coast onto an offramp safely. After crapping blood, I ultimately had the car towed to the Ford dealer on a sunday night. Now waiting til morning to hear from the stealership.

I have no idea what the hell happened. I had cleaned my Airaid CAI filter a couple of weeks ago and the car was running beautifully. Only other mods to car are 4.10 gears put in about 6 months ago without any problem since + 91 octane tune. No engine lights on or anything. The car has been great up until now.

Any ideas/diagnoses??? Any input GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks guys.

How hard were you driving it when it happened?

I was not driving very hard at all. Just average acceleration to get on the freeway.
How does that affect the diagnosis of the problem? (Please be aware that I know very little about this)
Thanks..

Another possibility....If you put too much oil on the Airaid Filter, some of it can work it's way on to the Sensor and foul it.

Would the fuel pump or the CAI oil on sensor cause the car to be COMPLETELY nonfunctional. I mean, when I step on the gas, there is ZERO response from the engine. (No change in RPM's)

It could. Too much oil on the filter will go into your intake coat the MAF sensor causing issues.

I would lean towards a fuel pump TSB although that TSB for longer freeway runs at the end not the beginning.

I don't see this being the fuel pump TSB. The TSB was for a slight hesitation, not a full failure. This seems much more serious. I'm interested to see how this thread turns out.
