So, my 2006 GT simply stopped working yesterday. Push gas pedal and zero response. Brought it to dealer-- turns out I need a new Throttle Body.
OK fine. Any ideas on how this happened? The car is only 2 years old.
Only mods are 4.10 gears, 91 octane Predator tune, CAI intake (which I recently oiled, then the car was running great).

Would overoiling the CAI filter cause this? Because the car was running great for several weeks after the oiling.

no the CAI is not the cause.....but its under warranty so dont worry about it and they will get it fixed and going again

Stuff happens. My dealer would of told me the CAI and tune caused it and wouldn't fix it unless I paid. Your luck they are cool about it.

tell them you want the GT500 TB ...just pay the difference...

What would a GT500 TB do for the performance of the car?

As far as the warranty goes, the dealer said it was covered. I thought for sure they would give me a hard time. We'll see, I don't have the car back yet.

My car went into "limp" mode aka the dreaded wrench light a little over a year ago. the dealer blamed my SC, so I found a mod friendly dealer and had Ford roadside assistance tow it for FREEand it was fixed for free as well!
The TB's are known to fail.

I don't see how they could blame the CAI for the throttle body failing. They could say it let in more dirt, but the oil issue is a non issue compared to the oil the pcv system sucks into the intake.
