RE: I want my 2008 GT to go Faster!!!
how fast? how much money you got ? it seems most of us fall into one of three categories:
1. You go the the track everyonce in a while and its a daily driver, get some regular bolt-ons (CAI,tune, exhaust, gears) and see if you want to go faster/furtherbased on your track times, all the while worrying about gas mileage, warranty concerns.
2. You use this car as a weekend warrior only, you dump a ton of money to get into the 10s !!! (SC, re-built tranny, nitrous)
3.You add mods based on the money you can afford to waste, lets face it you are changing stuff on a 2008 vehicle !!! lol

I hear ya, about $4500 into mine already, looking to maybe spend another $5000, the whole SC debate.
what ETs are you running with all those mods ? what are your mods, don't see a sig for you?

Oh sorry heres the sig, not includiung the brenspeed stage one saleen kit I ordered yesterday. I wish now I had been patient and not gone with the nitrous, and just got long tubes instead. But lessona learned I guess, and the nitrous was fun while it lasted ( a whole month[:@]) I havent even tracked this car yet. All we have in my area is a 1/8 mile, but I plan on hitting that as soon as the sc is on.

Cool, you may want to get some suspension stuff (UCA/LCAs)installed cuz I got the feeling you will needmore traction after the SC
starts screaming !!! I gotabout 50 runs under my belt so I am no expert !!
Here was my progression:
14.7-14.5 (without DRs, gears, basically stock)
13.9-13.7 (with UCA/LCAs, DRs , LT headers, and more practice)
13.4-13.3 (added 91 "race" tune and 3.73 gears plus better weather AZ air/heat kills !!!).
Good luck, let us know how it goes

Itsnot horrible morelike realistic with a stock auto on street tires out here in AZ, this always starts an argument but what the hell !! I can only go by what I have seen in person out here, not what people claim on this forum.
Last time at the track there was a stock 2008 GT/CS AUTO, he ran a 14.6/14.4 respectively, the guy driving had 20 years experience racing cars, this was at Speedworld, where most of the first couple seasons of "Pinks" were shot, so the track is excellent and sanctioned.
On a episode of "Passtime" a kid had a 2006 GT 5 speed, he said no mods but he had drag radials? he ran a 13.8, later on a
episode shot in Florida a guy with a2005 GT 5 speed ran a 13.01, he said he was "stock"but you never know.
I have not seen any stock GTs out here running the kind of times the east coast guys run.
Its ok I will trade for better weather !!!lol
5 speeds are faster stock or slightly modded, no doubt. I can't getanymore outof the car with the present set-up, non-FI the AUTO is at a disadvantage, IMHO.

1.89 13.27 @ 104.03 is the best for a Showroom Stock (well we did let 8 psi out of the rear tires) S197 GT I know of.
I personally witnessed that and can verify it was 100% stock (Excepting two baby seats in the back and a portable play pen in the trunk). The next pass was a 1.84 13.29 @ 103 Hotlapping. That was at around -331' DA if memory serves of course thats for a 3.55 Manual Car. I know the driver and will say he is a pretty decent stick. And yes that 1.84 was on stock Pirellis.
I think someone said the Showroom Stock Record for an Automatic is around 13.51 @ 102 but Im sure that was in negative DA's as well.
Around here an automatic with CAI/Tune and 4.10's can slip into the 12's in really good air. They are about equal to a CAI/Tune (No Gear) Manual.
Its not really what cars in other parts of the country run its what they run local. You have to play the hand your dealt.
Cars at Bandimere are not going to run the times they run at Cecil County.

RE: I want my 2008 GT to go Faster!!!
My roomate thinks he's going to hit 13.50 or better on best of 3 tries. Steeda CAI + brenspeed 91 octane tune. Stock otherwise. He's never been to a track.
I bet him $50 he doesn't do 13.50 or better. What do you guys think? Am I taking him out to dinner or is it he who's buying the beer?
