4.10 Gears and gas
From everything i understand is higher gears make you burn more gas because you are at a higher rpm at the same speed when on the highway. But is that true?
I wanted to know if being at a higher rpm burns more gas. From what i understand the engine is moving faster, but the throttle body position and the load of the engine is what determines how much gas is injected. if cruising at 3500 rpms versus 2500 rpms would it be possible to use less fuel because the engine makes more power at that rpm and is hence more efficient.
I was hoping this was true, if it was then i would definitly go for the 4.10 gears. Thansk everyone

RE: 4.10 Gears and gas
As a Reference: 4.10:1 Gears, 255/14/18 tires - my highway mileage at ~70 mph is 22-24 MPG. Overall Driving its in the 15-18 MPG range depending on what I'm doing. On the autoX course its ~10MPG or less LOL.
