Default Champion 7989 Plugs-Who's happy with them?

OK, I've read some posts from people unhappy with the new one piece Champions. Now I'd like to hear from those that are having good luck with them. I just received my new Champions and would like to hear some stories from the plus side before I install them. What did you gap them at?Thanks.

I'll bite.

I probably put about 1000 miles on them and the car is running great. I can't tell a difference between the Champions and the stock plugs thus far. I gapped them at .045 and also added the anti-sieze for piece of mind. The car idles dead on and runs great. Now, maybe in another few thousand miles I'll change my mind but so far they seem fine.

Yea, that's true. I got mine from Summit, received them this past week. I hope to put them in this week. The new plugs the dealer put in have only been in for maybe 3K miles or so and they told me they used anti-seize so I don't expect any trouble getting them out. I like the look of these new Champions.

I haven't noticed any difference with the Champions. Seems to run fine.

Well, I guess there is one difference --they don't have the two piece ground electrode shields that can break off and stay in the cylinder head the next time I change them!

You know if I remember correctly I read on a forum awhile ago when when researching (these plugs)on a Ford truck forum who weredebating aboutthese plugs using them in a 5.4and 4.6. They said that these were madefor the 5.4 and if used in the 4.6 that they were a heat range colder. I think you won't know for sure how well they will perform until guys start putting some miles on them thinking like aleast 10k+. I wouldn't think one one heat range colder is going to make a difference but maybe it does with this 3v.

Shouldn't be that big of a deal. I ran 1 step colder in a 2000 GT for a couple of years with no problems. I guess we'll just have to see.
