Pulling trigger on Vortech non-HO V2 s/c?
Need some advice and info:
See my sig for my mod list. My goal is 420RHP on my DD. Nothing more is needed.
Is $3,300 for Vortech non-HO s/c a good deal?
How much would install cost?
Would any of my current mods listed in my sig have to go?
Will non-HO Vortech v2 s/c get me to 420hp safely?

i believe the NON-IC kit you're looking at
will get you near 420BHP not RWHP....
the vortech is a nice kit and good
luck with the project
"This Vortech supercharging system can safely increase
this to 420 horsepower and 385 lb./ft. of torque.*"

get the HO kit... especially if you live in a warmer climate. the HO kit will put 430-450 RWHP with a good dyno tune and the charge cooler will keep the IATs down and let you have that type power level in most conditions (ie the PCM doesn't need to pull timing)
you'll lose the UDP's
as for the install its a 14-15 hour job according to Vortech - so if you not doing it 14x(labor rate @ local shop) = cost

Yeah the UD pulleys will have to go, but other than that everything else is good.
I would say if money is an issue get the non intercooled one. If I remember correctly Brenspeed has a kit around that blower that will make 500bhp with out the intercooler.
You can buy the base kit and add the other stuff as you go along and get the $$. Just a thought.
Check it out at www.brenspeed.com

I was in the same boat (trying to be cheap) but came across a deal I couldn't pass up on my Novi 2200.I would definently try to pull of the cooler but if not check out the non-cooled vortech setup from brenspeed at the bottom of the page. Should suit you right.

I started with the base kit, and have many upgrades since then. I putting 460hp at the wheels on a conservative tune

How many miles do you have on the system?

If you do end up getting the non-intercooled kit the install on that would be really simple. I wouldnt waste the money on paying for install. If you have the money for the install just getthe intercooled kit.
