Default New fuel filter and exhaust clamps

I added a couple minor new parts yesterday. Lets start with the fuel filter. Whipple recommends changing the fuel filter about every 15k miles, so instead of going with a stock replacement I chose and Aeromotive unit. The Aeromotive unit is about two inches longer than the stock, but I was able to sequeeze it in thanks to the flexibility of the fuel lines.

The exhaust clamps that came with my Flowmaster axle back mufflers SUCKED!! Tightening the Flowmaster clamps was a pain to say the least, and they would periodically need re-tightening. The built in bolt stripped trying to tighten one up the last time, so it was time for a replacement. I picked these Easy Seals from Speed Unlimited and all I can say is MAN WHAT A DIFFERENCE a well designed product makes. I could never get the old clamps tight enough. The new clamps are the total opposite and there is no shake at the joint like there was before.

I'm about to do the fuel filter (I'm a little behind at 50K miles already... oops). How long did it take you?

Nice ruler.

About 30 minutes, thats really taking my time. I just wanted to be cautious dealing with fuel.

I wantto replace the clamps that came with my MAC's too but I can't find the EasySeal on the SpeedUnlimited site. Looking at your pic, I can't figure out how the clamp works. More info would be appreciated. Thanks.

The clamp is essential a belt that is about three inches wide. You place it over the joint between the exhaust system and you axle back mufflers. You tighten the clamp using the two bolts on the clamps. Pic attached.

Thanks a lot for the pic, that clears it up. That looks like it'll do the job. Now I'm going to get me a set too.

Please tell me about the disconnect tool! Two weeks ago I tried to replace the fuel filter on my '06 F-150 and couldn't get it loose from the steel portion of the fuel line and had to take it to the stealership. Between the wife and I, we have two F-150's and my '08 GT, so I know that I will encounter the problem again unless I learn what the problem is. If I can change the filters myself, it will save me some money, but I was really stymied trying to get the thing off there and had to punt.

i got my set at pepboys for 5 dollars. i couldnt find them so i just asked a guy and he took me to them. basically what you do is put it over the fuel filter stem and slide it toward the fuel line and it undoes a quick clip which is inside of the end of the fuel line, then it pops right off.
