Now you tell me! I just ordered the accels from lightningforceperformance.com for $299 shipped.

You guys should hang out just a bit more until we release the Weapon X Xcops.. These things are going to be bad to the bone just like they're 4V Xcops.. Just a little but longer and you'll all see what I'm talking about.

Jared

If I were you Moosestang I would check this link out http://www.rpmoutlet.com/lightwip.htm#1and get summit to refund you $40.00 back on a price match. Thats what I did when I bought mine from Jegs because I did not want to buy anything through RPM.

I tried to pricematch the accels from jegs with the rpm price....they wouldnt do it cause it was below cost for the item. I think the best i could get jegs to do was 240ish for a set

At that time LFP had the same price and RPM did so i ordered from LFP instead of RPM

Forgive me for sounding stupid, but what good are these COPS anyway? What is the improvement over the stock coils?

If they could be an introductary $400 shipped price they'd fly off the shelves

But whats the price going to be compared to the summit ones
Pricing on the Xcops will most likely be in the $430-440 range.

I'll see what I can do. Maybe do a special introductory MustangForums deal. I'll let you guys know as soon as I get more info on the release date. Thanks, Jared

Why are the Xcop's so much better then the Accels and twice the money?

Why are the GMS coils $500? I have no idea.

Awesome Jared! I'll keep a spot in my war chest just for these.

Ignition is obviously an important part of how your engine performs. The coils are what send voltage to the spark plugs. The voltage output of the stock coils are regulated due to them being an OEM piece and being tied into emmissions. On N/A and Forced inductions cars an increased amount of voltage along with better spark will improve performance. Many cars also suffer from spark breakup in the higher RPM's. Cars that are running high boost and large shots of nitrous are prime candidates for blowout. The answer is a high performance aftermarket coil and set of plugs.

Here's some of the benefits of the Weapon X Xcops... Jared

CIRCUIT COMPRESSION

High-voltage circuits always risk degratation at any connection point between two parts. High voltage also will escape from its intended circuit whenever it finds an easier path to ground because of component failure or insulation breakdown. With coil on plug, there is no high-tension lead.... The system 'compresses' the secondary ignition to the minimum number of components and reduces the distance high-voltage circuit must travel."

Whats also great about the WeaponX Xcop is that the connector internal to the XCOP does not move. It is hard epoxied into the casing of the ignition coil. Internally it is connected directly to the ignition coil circuitry making it a true COP unit.

In addition to that the Xcop was design was created from scratch which leads to:

* Improved ignition coil position for improved energy transfers.
* The cylindrical coil can be installed in the plug hole, which was previously a “dead space”.
* Improved ignition coil position for reduced RFI/EMI. (which I will explain later)
* Improved packaging.
* Very expensive due to custom re-modeling, testing, prototyping and re-engineering components to fit.
* Improved efficiency reduces transmission length of high voltage to the spark plug.
* Improved efficiency in reducing problem prone connection points.
