Gauges & Piller Pod Options

RE: Gauges & Piller Pod Options
I'm thinking about purchasing the 3 following gauges mounted in a Speed of Sound 05-07 GT Triple Gauge Pillar Pod (Coupe)
1.) Autometer Nexus Series 2-1/16" Wideband Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge
2.) Autometer Nexus Series 2 1/16" Full Sweep Boost / Vacuum Gauge OR mechanical???
**Autometer Nexus Series 8 Channel Sensor Module & Remote**
3.) Aeroforce Ford CN Series DUAL or SINGLE Interceptor Scan Gauges

Does anyone know the difference between the DUAL & SINGLE Interceptor Gauges??? 2 instead of 1???

RE: Gauges & Piller Pod Options
The dual- you can show four different parameters at once (and you get 2 gauges- so each gauge shows 2 parameters=4) all able to plug and play simultaneously into the OBD II port.

Oh and those gauges are very very nice IMO and though pricey they are worth it! Its exactly what I would get! The boost gauge I would get mechanical as I was told they are faster at showing boost as opposed to the electrical gauge (easier install too) I would get the SOS double gauge pillar and for the 2 interceptor gauges I would put in the dash vents! RE: Gauges & Piller Pod Options
Does anyone know if thereactually is amechanical boost gauge for sale in the Autometer Nexus series?
Everything I see is full sweep electrical.

And why would I use 2 Interceptor gauges?
I figured 1 is enough because they show the same info except for the analog inputs.

you would use 2 so you can monitor 4 readings at once. they also have a feature to warn you if one of the parameters your monitoring goes above or below a specific level. they have the ability to monitor over 40 readings off the OBD port and even actively scroll thru them as well

RE: Gauges & Piller Pod Options
THe only thing that has me wanting a regular guage over the Aeroforce IS hte fact that it pulls its readings from the ecu. So its oil pressure and water temp are literally no different than the dash. The main reason I would want the guage is because I want something MORE accurate than the dash guage, where the aerofrce is using all the stock sensors and is just reading the ecu. I would much rather have my temp and oil pressure reading from an aftermarket sensor that I installed myself.

Your dash gauges are really idiot lights and dont tell you much.
The aero gauge shows you real dynamic numbers.
I personnaly monitor the following mostly with my gauge. Granted I havent used aftermarket gauges to check them but all the number I get jive with what I have seen from people who do have aftermarket gauges.
IATbefore the blower
IAT after the blower
Coolant Temp
Fuel Pressure
Throttle Percentage (How far open it is, never goes past 75% by the way)
Instantaneous fuel mileage
MAF counts
Cylinder head temp
RPM (with built in shift light)
Horsepower
That is what I look at day to day but there are 40 more things I can look at whenever I want.
There is also a performance measure system that does 0-60, 1/8, 1/4 mile time and MPH.
From what I have heard this is close to right too, from others experiences. Once I get a new clutch I will test it myself.

Nothing actually, I am still on the stocker and dont trust it with the power I am making now. I am treating the car pretty nice until I can swap it out for something better.
I dont think multiple passes for the track would be too beneficial.
Maybe once I have the new one in hand, it might be the perfect time, but we will see.
Plan to get it by the end of the year.
I am waiting to see how Moose fairs with his Spec Stage 2, other option is the Mcloed Twin but it is big $$ if the spec is good enough.
