so you're going with:

Mcleod RST
Mcleod Slave

if you don't mind, would you list the
part numbers for those and any other
parts needed for the install

do you think the OEM slave cylinder will
hold up well, with higher clamping force
pressure plates
I don't know, but so far so good. If the oem one goes out, then i'll have to pony up for the Mcleod. The spec stage 2 pressure plate has 30% more clamping force than stock, so it's safe to assume that it's 30% harder for the stock TOB to release it. Part of the reason I went with the stage 2 and not the 2+ or 3+ was because of the stock TOB. I couldn't see pushing it harder when I didn't have the power for a clutch like that. I read somewhere that all the spec pressure plates were the same though and only the clutch disk material was different, so IDK.

That was the plan but I am getting tried of waiting for that damn clutch.

bearing kit: MCL-14-301

Clutch: MCL-6911-03C

Those are summit racing part numbers, I would call and verify numbers or you can go here which is where I placed my order,

http://dagostinoracing.com/index.php...ducts_id=15140

They are much cheaper.

Here's the stock TOB without the dust cover. As you can see it does have a plastic shaft. I'm not sure how much extra pressure it would take to crack it, but it's definately possible. I'd be more concerned with over compressing it by using a spacer or over extending it by having a flywheel/pressure plate combo that's is not correct.

Here's how it normally looks when on the transmission.

I'm surprised the bearing on these don't wear out more often. I've seen better bearings on skate board wheels.[:'(] For those reading that don't know, the head of the TOB (part i'm pushing down on) spins around with the pressureplate/flywheel and it is normally compressed like shown until you press the clutch pedal down.

i'm glad you explained this, because
i've been wondering how the slave
contacts the pressure plate fingers
as they're spinning

thanks moose

Too bad I didn't live in Florida, I would ask you to help change mine, the service expense is killing my car funds!

On the TOB, I have no idea what Ford was thinking when they designed that thing, plastic come on now Ford you should know better.

But I think the Mcleod bearing kit along with a different clutch would solve my issue, if I could do the work myself (no tools, room, or time), I would try just the bearing kit with the existing Specs II combo just to see if it fixes the issue.

New price and part number for RST
