Default put a new air filter on, now i've got another problem

today my brenspeed order came in, a new conical air filter for my JLT (so i can have 2, one that can be on the car while i'm cleaning the spare), and cleaned out my MAF, cleaned out my TB, reset the computer, and did the whole ilde relearn process. i also put in a new battery (thanks s197richie for the advice, i'm such a noob haha)

so now i've got a NEW problem. the old air filter was insanely dirty. like, black. i took it out and tapped it on the ground, bugs, dirt, all kinds of crap was falling out. it was ridiculous. and holding it up to the new one, like night and day, literally. i was so busy with school and ****, i didn't change it in since i've had the intake[:@][:@]

it was so dirty, it must have been sucking like at least 50 hp from the car. that, and all the other minor things i did. i just went for a short drive now, and i cannot for the life of me get traction in 1st gear. if i start carefully, slowly squeeze into it, by 5800 i start spinning/hopping a little you know? and then if i powershift or even speedshift into 2nd, its like another couple seconds while the car takes its time to get traction. ugh. its kinda exciting knowing i've got the power, but i can't do the first gear pull anymore unless i wanna put on my dr's, but they're only gonna last 3k miles, i'm saving them for the track.

ALSO:

didn't wanna make a new thread, but do i need that battery insulator jacket? it crumbled when i put in the new battery.

What have you done for the "idle relearn process"?

for idle relearn, you let it idle a minute with a/c off, then with a/c on, then drive it for 10 miles. simple, yea.

tcs is off. i always shut it off.
